:: Energy Performance Contracting Workshops

 

ESCO University / London, 24 January 2012

To give insights into the role that ESCO model can play in transforming our energy use was the aim of 3rd ESCO University. This session had been tailored for start-up ESCOs, new energy efficiency projects, utilities exploring energy service opportunities, and DSM departments, but also for FI creating new financial products and municipalities considering ESCOs to deliver increased energy efficiency and cost savings. 15 partipants from all over the world took part in the 2012 ESCO University, that was lead by Susanne Berger of Berliner Energieagentur (BEA) and Jan W, Bleyl of Grazer Energieagentur (GEA).

Training for the European Investment Bank (EIB)/ Luxemburg, 20 October 2011

“Financing through ESCO model” was the title of the workshop held this October in Luxemburg. The main focus was on the principles and backgrounds of ESCO financing focussing especially on the perspective of financing institutions. This event is part of the process of deployment of the JESSICA financing mechanism for energy efficiency and renewable energy initiatives.

 

Training for the Kula municipality, Serbia/ Berlin, 17-19 October 2011

Within the scope of the project “Establishment of the energy management at the municipal level in order to increase energy efficiency” the municipality of Kula intends to train managers and stakeholders of the municipality in order to implement an EPC pilot project. In this context the BEA organised and implemented a 3-day workshop for the managers and stakeholders of the municipality of Kula. The training was accompanied by on-site visits.

 

Training for the ELENA Team of the Portuguese Municipality of Gaia/ 8-9 September 2011

Background: The application of the municipality Vila nova di Gaia to ELENA Facility has been accepted in 2010 by the European Investment Bank and the European Union Commission. Within this scope a 2-day workshop was held in the Portuguese municipality with the objective to help the ELENA team with basic understanding and examples from European EPC projects and in particular with insights on EPC contracts, tender procedures and technical project development.

 

ESCO University 2010/ Lisboan, 2 October 2010

The pace of ESCO development across Europe varies greatly. Despite the substantial number of energy efficiency projects deployed, the principle of the ESCO is not commonplace. In this context takes place the ESCO University. The ESCO 2010 was held in Lisboan in November 2010 providing a platform where Energy Service and Energy Management professionals discussed the challenges and opportunities faced by the ESCO industry in Europe. The next ESCO University is going to be in London at the 25 and 26 of January 2012
